Dr. Timothy D. Johnson from Lipscomb University will present a free public program on his new book FOR DUTY AND HONOR: TENNESSEE'S MEXICAN WAR EXPERIENCE at 7 p.m. at St. Peter's Episcopal Church adjacent to the Polk Sisters' House. He will sign copies of the book afterward.

Deadline for "Art at the Polk" Entries

The President James K. Polk Home and Museum invites artists to create works of visual art inspired by the Home, its collections, or the lives and legacies of James and Sarah Polk for its "Art at the Polk" contest. We welcome creativity in all media. Entries must be submitted by 4 p.m. on January 28, 2019. Beginning on February 1, they will be displayed to the public in Polk Presidential Hall.
